William Newton is a contributor to Spectator World, the U.S. edition of The Spectator magazine, where his primary focus is in-depth commentary on the art world. He is a graduate of the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service, the University of Notre Dame Law School, and Sotheby’s Institute of Art in London. He lives in Washington, D.C.

From 2014 to 2022, he served as a contributor and art critic for the online magazine The Federalist. As a public speaker, he has addressed academic, professional, and religious institutions around the U.S. He has also appeared as a guest or co-host on various podcasts.

When not adding to his somewhat unwieldy art collection, he is often to be found planning his next sojourn in Spain.
